Sampler by Eliza Riddell, Baltimore, Maryland

The first, a needlework sampler, Eliza Riddell, probably Baltimore, Maryland, January 183?. Worked in silk stitches on a linen ground, with a pious verse, above a house, pine tree birds in flowering rose bush. Above John Riddell DD Margaret Riddell. Some fading and discoloration. Appears to be original veneered frame. 21 by 17 1/4 inches.
