Anonymous Balch School Memorial to John G. & John A. Hillhouse, Providence, RI c. 1806.

This silk embroidered memorial was done c1806 by a young girl attending Mary Balch's School in Providence, Rhode Island. The inscription reads "Sacred to the Memory of John G. Hillhouse Born August 16, 1751 - Died October 9, 1806 Also of John A. Hillhouse, his Son, Born November 4, 1802 - Died October 28, 1806". They died just 18 days apart.

Silk on Silk; sight size 16 1/2" x 20".
