A young girl probably in her mid teens worked this needlework sampler while attending Elizabeth Mason's school
in Kutztown, PA. The sampler is dominated by a large pink house in the center with 2 sheep in the lawn, all surrounded
with a flowering border. It retains its original frame and glass. Note: Attached to the back for preservation is
a 1844 Philadelphia newspaper, which was the original backing paper before the sampler was conservation mounted. STEPHEN & CAROL HUBER |
