Jane Bandcroft Antique needlework sampler Dunstable, MA dated 1830 Jane Bancroft stitched this unusual family  register/ memorial sampler in 1830 at the age of 23 in Dunstable, Massachusetts.  The memorial is to her sister Martha Bancroft born in 1816 and died in 1817.  Interestingly, years later, it was probably Jane who stitched in the death dates of her siblings on this family heirloom. Jane was one of ten children born to Jonathan Bancroft and Sarah Taylor.  She married Isaac Cummings, a stonecutter, in 1837, and they had two children.
