Sarah Mearns Scotland c.1840 Sarah at aged 14 worked this very elaborate and colorful sampler feathering a six story high building. She included numerous sets of initials predominately ending with an “M”, no doubt family members. Centered in the sampler under a garland of braided human hair, is a very early photo in a gold frame.
