NANCY H. MUDGETT New Hampshire dated 1825 Nancy worked this sampler at aged eleven while attending school in or around New Hampton, NH. The sampler is worked with several alphabets, numbers, an inscription all divided with intricate needlework bands. The beautiful lower section is filled with flowering trees and central vase of flowers grounded on solidly stitched hillocks. Nancy was born May 17, 1815 the daughter of Benjamin and Lydia (Huckins) Mudgett. She married Jonathan H. Johnson at age 22 and they had 9 children. She died at age 94 in 1909.
