It is inscribed in the bottom cartouche: Mary A. Norris / Born April 26 1812/ Aged 13 years. She was the daughter of Betsey Brocklebank and Samuel Norris. On the back is page from the "The Essex Gazette" newspaper dated 1827, which was the original backing paper . Silk on linen; 16" x 12" sight.
