It was a popular New England border that traveled westward with migration. She was born April 11, 1820, the daughter of Pierson Spining and Mary Schooley. Mary had 12 siblings all born in Springfield, Ohio and the sampler descended in one if her sister's family. Silk on linen; 14 7/8" x 14 7/8" sight, 17" x 17' framed.
