SALLY THURSTON Troy, MA 1830 Sally stitched impressive columns on her sampler with wispy flowers in chunky pots. She inscribed her sampler, “Sally L. Thurston’s sampler Wrought AD. 1830/ Troy.” In 1804, Fall River, MA changed the name of the town to Troy. Thirty years later they changed it back to Fall River.
