Consecrated to the remains/ of/ FRANCES ELOISA FLORENCE/ WHO DIED Oct. 4th, 1815, aged/ 1 year 9 Months and 10 Days.

Mary Ann worked her silk embroidered memorial at the well known Mary Balch School in Providence, Rhode Island. Typical of this school is the marble effect on the monument, the kneeling girl in black, and the minutely stitched inscription.

Silk on silk; 12 ¾" x 12 ¼" sight size.
