Mary Ann Bancroft Antique Needlework Sampler Deerfield, MA area c.1825 Mary Ann was young student when she worked this classic c.1825 American sampler. It was likely worked at what is now known as the "White Dove School". She included a life guiding verse embracing benefits of virtue, discresion, knowledge, and "pure religion". She did not include a date or the location of her school and researching her name is inconclusive. The sampler itself is charming and verse is worth heeding. Silk on linen; 12" x 17 ¼" sight.
